Medical History Form - please print, fill out, scan and email back to Informed Consent Form.In Person at the NHTI campus: from 8:30am-3:30pm If a course participant is seeking certification in nitrous oxide administration in a state other than NH, it is the responsibility of that participant to contact the appropriate state board and gain knowledge of and meet the requirements for nitrous oxide administration in that state. The course will cover the history of nitrous oxide, neurophysiology of pain and pain control, patient assessment including medical and dental indications and contraindications, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology of nitrous oxide, emergency prevention and management, nitrous oxide armamentarium including safe assembly and handling of gas tanks, masks, tubing, scavenger and monitoring equipment, techniques, record keeping, and regulatory/legal issues. This course has been designed to provide participants with didactic and clinical continuing education to be eligible to administer nitrous oxide (N2O/O2) in the state of New Hampshire. PLEASE NOTE: You will NOT be officially registered and a seat will not be reserved for you until ALL necessary paperwork as well as payment is submitted. Session 2 - Online portion from April 22 - May 6, 2023 In person at NHTI - Apfrom 8:30am - 1:30pm Session 1 - Online portion from April 8 - April 22, 2023 Online portion: Must be completed prior to attending clinical portion Upon successful completion of the course, the participant will meet the qualifications stipulated by the NH Board of Dental Examiners. ![]() This course prepares dental assistants and dental hygienists to monitor nitrous oxide use during dental procedures. The course will open on CANVAS on Monday, to allow participants to review posted materials that will be useful before and after the course.ĬEUs: 7.0 (5 hours didactic and 2 hours online lab) The on campus class will be held on Saturday, Apfrom 8:30 am to 3:30 pm in Macrury Room 138. The instructor will be available throughout these exercises to provide assistance, as needed. During the course attendees will be required to conduct their own guided online searches and to report back to the group their findings. Included in the course will be opportunities for attendees to conduct searches to answer clinical questions, as well as program component, delivery and appraisal questions. The course will include lecture and PPT slides, discussion, and demonstrations of techniques to conduct online searches to find the best levels of evidence available to answer clinical questions and discover implementation and other relevant types of evidence to inform public health professionals seeking to design, deliver, and appraise dental public health programs.
